Paramahansa Yogananda’s Birthday Commemorative
Thursday, January 5, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

A special birthday commemoration service will be held for our guru, Paramahansa Yogananda at Hollywood Temple
on Thursday, January 5, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

 It is customary to bring to this service a flower symbolizing devotion, and a monetary offering in an envelope
in gratitude to the SRF line of Gurus and their teachings.  For your convenience, flowers will be available on a donation basis outside the Temple from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

 After the service, all are invited to enjoy cake and chai in India Hall in honor of the anniversary of our Guru’s birth.

For those unable to attend the live event, the birth anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda will be celebrated from the SRF International Headquarters in Los Angeles with a live streamed event on Thursday, January 5, at 9:00 a.m. (PST).

Paramahansa Yogananda’s All-Day Birthday Meditation
Thursday, January 7, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

All are invited to join a special six-hour meditation service honoring the birth anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda on Saturday, January 7 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in both India Hall and the Temple. 
 
India Hall is for those who intend to stay for the entire day, while the Temple is for those who can only stay for part of the day.

 Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. and the meditation begins promptly at 10:00 a.m.  

There will be a 30-minute break at 1:00 p.m.   

It is customary to bring a fruit as an offering for this meditation and a monetary offering in an envelope

  Meditation supports (armrests) may only be used in the patio area of the Temple,
not in the main area of the Temple or India Hall.  

We would also like to request that you not bring any food or water into either India Hall or the Temple. 

For those unable to attend the live event, the six-hour meditation in honor of Paramahansa Yogananda’s birthday will live streamed from the SRF International Headquarters in Los Angeles on Saturday, January 7, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (PST).
