Young Adults Group Meeting - August
There will be no Young Adults Group meeting in August. The group takes the month off during the week of Self-Realization Fellowship World Convocation activities.
Open to those ages 18 to 39, our young adults group gathers monthly in India Hall for spiritual fellowship, with a Self-Realization Fellowship monastic in attendance. Evenings include prayer, chanting, silent meditation, and discussion on applying Paramahansa Yogananda’s teachings in daily life, followed by light refreshments.
Prior to the meeting at 7:00 p.m., we have a 30 minute meditation starting at 6:20 p.m. To learn more and ask questions, please visit our Young Adults page.

Sunday Morning Meditation and Inspirational Service - July 26
Each Sunday morning, Hollywood Temple holds a group meditation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by an Inspirational Service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. You may come for either or both services. All are welcome!
The hour-long service includes a short silent meditation, an inspirational talk on the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, and a brief healing service, led by a monastic of the Self-Realization Fellowship order.
The Temple bookroom is open afterward, from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m.
Families are welcome. Children ages 3 to 12 may be dropped off at Sunday School starting at 10:45 a.m., so parents can attend the 11:00 a.m. Inspirational Service. Teens ages 13 to 18 are welcome at Teen Group, which meets at the same hour on the second Sunday of each month.
Sunday School - July 26
The Hollywood Temple Sunday School meets every Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., for children ages 3 to 12. Drop-off begins at 10:45 a.m. Classes include a short meditation and instruction in Paramahansa Yogananda’s How-to-Live principles.
Teens ages 13 to 18 are welcome at the Teen Group, which meets once a month on the second Sunday at the same time.

Hollywood Temple Singers - July 26
If you love to sing, we’d love to have you! The Hollywood Temple Singers are a year-round choir open to all.
We gather to rehearse every Sunday from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. in Lower India Hall and perform at local convalescent homes and occasionally at Temple events. Newcomers are welcome any Sunday, no audition necessary!
Friday Evening Meditation - July 31
A longer group meditation with kirtan held every Friday evening from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. It begins with the Energization Exercises at 7:00 p.m. and includes periods of chanting at the top of each hour, when attendees may enter or leave the Temple.

Temple Open for Convocation Visitors - Friday, July 31
Hollywood Temple is open to visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, for those arriving early for the Self-Realization Fellowship World Convocation. Visitors are welcome to meditate in the Temple and to walk the grounds, and Temple tours are available. For a Temple Tour, please visit upper India Hall to meet the volunteers who will give you a tour.
To visit the Temple during the week of Convocation, please visit convocation.yogananda.org and inquire about registering for a formal pilgrimage tour. We will also hold our Sunday Morning Meditation and Inspirational Service on Sunday, August 2 and Sunday, August 9.

After closing at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, Hollywood Temple will reopen in the evening for our 7:00 p.m. Friday Evening Meditation.
August Day of Service (Convocation Setup)
Please join us at Hollywood Temple on the first Saturday of each month for a Day of Service. We meet in the Temple at 9:00 a.m. for a monastic-led prayer and short meditation, and then divide into teams to care for the Temple and grounds.
A short meditation is held at 12:00 p.m., followed by sharing a home-cooked vegetarian lunch. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve and enjoy spiritual fellowship. We hope to see you there!
