Services & Programs

Our weekly Sunday Inspirational Service at 11:00 a.m. offers an opportunity to meet with other truth-seekers to commune with God and share spiritual fellowship. These hour-long services include readings from Paramahansa Yogananda’s writings, as well as periods of devotional chanting, silent meditation, and prayer. They are led by Monastics of the Self-Realization Fellowship Order.
Our Services include participation in the worldwide Self-Realization Fellowship Prayer Circle, during which the healing techniques of Paramahansa Yogananda are practiced.
Please view the Schedule of Services.

Paramahansa Yogananda said, “Group meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member.”
Group meditation offers participants an opportunity to deepen their meditation by coming together with others to practice the concentration and meditation techniques taught by Paramahansa Yogananda in the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons.
The meditation begins and ends with a prayer and a brief period of devotional chanting, followed by the deep silence of intense concentration as taught by Paramahansa Yogananda. The silent period (no longer than 40-50 minutes) is used to practice the Kriya Yoga techniques of concentration and meditation, to silently chant and pray to God with devotion in the language of your heart, and to enjoy the deep peace and inner joy of God found in the stillness of meditation.
Childcare is not provided during the meditation. If you are new to group meditations, please read our Guidelines for Group Meditations.
We invite you to attend our conducted long meditations every Friday from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. and Sundays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Group Practice of the Energization Exercises
The Energization Exercises are a series of psychophysical exercises developed by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1916 to prepare the body for meditation. The Energization Exercises, which take about fifteen minutes to perform, are one of the most effective means of eliminating stress and nervous tension. Practicing them prior to meditation is a great help in entering a calm, interiorized state of awareness.
Self-Realization students practice the Energization Exercises before meditation, as taught in the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons, and group practice of the Energization Exercises is held before both the Friday and Sunday evening Group Meditation.
Friday Evening Meditation
7:00 p.m., starting on the Temple lawn
