Events Calendar

A weekly Hatha Yoga class for women of all levels, held Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Lower India Hall. No experience is necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat or blanket; water is recommended. Suggested donation $10.

A longer group meditation with kirtan held every Friday evening from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. It begins with the Energization Exercises at 7:00 p.m. and includes periods of chanting at the top of each hour, when attendees may enter or leave the Temple.

A commemorative service honoring the birthday of Paramahansa Yogananda.

Please bring a single flower symbolizing your devotion and a monetary offering in an envelope to express gratitude for our line of Gurus. For your convenience, flowers will be available by donation outside the Temple from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

After the service, all are invited to enjoy cake and chai in India Hall in honor of the anniversary of our Guru’s birth. If you are unable to attend in person, you can find a list of online commemorative services and meditations on the official Self-Realization Fellowship calendar.

Evenings include prayer, chanting, silent meditation, and discussion on applying Paramahansa Yogananda’s teachings in daily life, followed by light refreshments.

The Hollywood Temple Service Group (HTSG) is a league of devoted Kriyabans* who are committed to serving their Guru’s work at Hollywood Temple and striving to exemplify his ideals.  The Group meets monthly for meditation, discipleship classes, service committee meetings, and fellowship.

If you are a Kriyaban who regularly attends Hollywood Temple and are interested in becoming a member of the HTSG, please attend one of our monthly meetings and see the HTSG chairman at the end of the meeting.

If you are not a Kriyaban and are interested to learn more about the Service Group, we occasionally hold meetings open to all friends of Hollywood Temple.
